My dear friends...
The storm REMING has left a nearly indelible mark in the Philippines, and the most devastated province hit by the storm is my dearest hometown, Albay.
When I saw the footage of my hometown, Tabaco City, my heart was devastated. I never knew that the damage was really grave. I am really worried about my relatives and townmates, whom I have lost contact already.
I was really moved and I would like to ask you a favor. Can we all help in our own little ways? Look at the situation of the Bicolanos and our other countrymen. By the footages we have seen in news that they all desperately need our help.
Let us all think of what we have as of now, compared to those of our fellow countrymen who were hit by the storm directly. Actually, we must be very thankful for we have been spared of the supertyphoon's direct hit. Why don't we express gratitude by helping out those in need?
I know I cannot solicit donations from each and every one of you until I'm given permission by authorities. So, I'm simply asking each and every person who reads this letter to help in their own ways. Even a small prayer and some sacrifice for them would make them really happy, you know.
I hope you can help our fellow Filipinos who are in dire need.
Thank you very much.
